Utah network enhancement

If you are an Aetna HealthSave or Aetna HealthSave Basic member in Utah, beginning in January, you will have access to a new, larger provider network called the Aetna Extended Network. The new network will include most Intermountain Health providers, as well as University of Utah, HCA/MountainStar, and CommonSpirit / Holy Cross (formerly Centura) providers. Review the list of providers from now through December.

Beginning in January, log in to the Aetna website (or SSO) or Aetna app to search for network doctors and facilities.

Utah members will receive new medical ID cards in late December. See announcement for more details.

Aetna Service Advocate

Get faster help by dialing the number on your ID card to reach an Aetna Service Advocate. They can connect you to specialized resources, find in-network providers, help make appointments, and explain resources so you can get the most out of them. This new service is available now.

Mind Companion

Mind Companion is an Aetna navigation tool that guides you to the right mental wellbeing care, based on your answers to a brief assessment. If you need additional help finding the right support, you’ll have access to a care navigator. Watch for more details about this new program in January.

Higher contributions and deductibles

To keep pace with increasing health care costs, employee contributions for all Aetna plans will increase. See your health care contributions. In addition, the HealthSave Basic, HealthSave, and Out of Area HealthSave plans will have higher deductibles:

With the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, coverage for related testing, vaccinations, and care has already changed for some plans and is changing for all plans effective January 1, 2024.

Care and treatment related to a COVID-19 diagnosis is covered under your normal Aetna or Kaiser plan design (i.e., subject to your deductible, coinsurance, copays, and out-of-pocket maximum).

To be covered by the plans, you must obtain vaccines and booster shots from an in-network provider. The cost of test kits will no longer be covered by the medical plans.
